Organized by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and supported by the Nepal-China Friendship Forum (NCFF) and the National Forum of Photojournalists (NFPJ), the event ”Lens on Nepal: 100 Chinese Photographers Capturing Culture, Heritage, and Tourism” successfully showcased Nepal’s vibrant culture and rich traditions.
This unique initiative brought together 100 distinguished photographers from various provinces of China, offering them an immersive journey through Nepal’s culture, landscapes, and diverse traditions. The focus was on capturing the lively Holi Festival, a celebration of colors that highlights Nepal’s deep-rooted cultural heritage. Beyond Holi, photographers documented UNESCO World Heritage Sites, traditional lifestyles, and Nepal’s natural wonders, presenting a powerful visual narrative that promotes Nepal as a global tourist destination.
The event began with a live sitar performance by Dr. Durbesh Chandra Regmi, followed by a welcome note from Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma, Chairman of the Nepal-China Friendship Forum. Mr. Pradeep Raj Onta, President of the National Forum of Photojournalists, shared his remarks, followed by speeches from Surya Thapaliya, Senior Manager of the Nepal Tourism Board, and Hon’ble Urmila Majhi, Member of the House of Representatives. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to the photographers, followed by a dinner and cultural dance, celebrating the success of this cultural exchange.
