The conference on “Transforming Nepal’s Agriculture,” organized by the Nepal-China Friendship Forum (NCFF), took place on July 5, 2024, at the Silver Oak Banquet in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.
The event commenced with an opening session that included inauguration by the Chief Guest, Hon. Barsha Man Pun, Minister of Finance, Nepal. Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma, Chairman of the Nepal-China Friendship Forum, delivered the welcome remarks, setting the stage for a day of insightful discussions and presentations.
Dr. Ganesh Joshi, former Agriculture Secretary, presented on “Agricultural Transformation in Nepal: Status and Way Forward,” providing an in-depth analysis of the current state and future directions of Nepal’s agriculture. Dr. Pradyumna Raj Pandey, Senior Agricultural Economist at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, followed with a presentation titled “Overview of Current Agricultural Programs and Policies in Nepal: Challenges & Opportunities,” which highlighted the existing programs and the obstacles and prospects in the sector.
The Chief Guest, Hon. Barsha Man Pun, also delivered remarks, emphasizing the importance of agricultural transformation for Nepal’s development.
