Set against the backdrop of the breathtaking city of Dali, I had an amazing time at The Youth Innovation Competition on Global Governance (YICGG). Meeting like-minded people from around the world, I learned a lot about biodiversity through sessions like World Cafe discussions, Ignite talks, debates, group projects, and the final presentations. Each day's experience was different from the rest but out of all the days, we had the best time during the cultural night, where we danced to a Nepali song, and everyone joined in. I've made lifelong friends from different parts of the world and will forever appreciate Kalyan sir for nominating me and my friends.

As a youth researcher from Nepal, participating in the Youth Innovation Competition on Global Governance (YICGG) in 2019 was an extraordinary journey that reshaped my perspectives, fueled my passion for change, and provided invaluable insights into global challenges. The journey began with anticipation and nerves, but also excitement at the prospect of representing Nepal on a global platform. The competition wasn't just an event; it was a gateway to a world where youth voices mattered and could make a difference. Engaging with participants from diverse cultural backgrounds immediately broadened my worldview. Conversations sparked connections and friendships that transcended borders. Each interaction was a lesson, a chance to understand different perspectives on issues that resonated globally. Presenting my research on a global stage was both nerve-wracking and exhilarating. Sharing insights from Nepal's context, discussing the challenges we face, and proposing innovative solutions garnered attention and appreciation. The validation of my work on such a platform was immensely motivating. What stood out most was the collaborative spirit. Working with fellow researchers from around the world was an eye-opener. Pooling our knowledge, expertise, and diverse experiences to brainstorm solutions felt powerful. It wasn’t just about competition; it was about co-creating a better world. The experience wasn't confined to the competition hall. Outside formal sessions, informal discussions and cultural exchanges were equally impactful. Learning about other nations’ traditions, social structures, and aspirations created a tapestry of global understanding. The sense of empowerment was palpable. YICGG instilled a belief that youth can be change agents. The encouragement, feedback, and mentorship received during the event bolstered confidence in our ability to drive meaningful change, not just in Nepal but globally. Returning home, the experience lingered. It fueled a drive to apply newfound knowledge and insights. Most importantly, YICGG 2019 was a catalyst for personal growth.
